Woman allegedly bashed over ‘infidelity’ claims

-

A ST GEORGE man who allegedly punched and kicked a woman in the head over “infidelity” claims has been denied bail in the Toowoomba Magistrates Court. Jason Jeremy Duncan is accused of violently assaulting the woman after getting into an argument about where his clothes were. Police prosecutor Shelby Larcombe told the court the ordeal played out once the complainant and Duncan had gone to her hotel room on Henry St, St George.

“She failed to find (Duncan) after searching in the hotel room for his clothes before he came back in and made a comment about infidelity,” she said.

“He punched her in the head twice, grabbed her by the hair, pushed her onto the ground and kicked her in the head when she was on the ground.”

Magistrate Damien Carroll denied him bail.

Duncan’s solicitor Michael Corbin said his client would plead not guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm charge and guilty to breaching bail, failing to appear and possessing a restricted item.
