Ex-premier breaks leg

FORMER South Australian premier Jay Weatherill has broken his leg while bushwalking with his family in a national park.

Mr Weatherill was hiking at Hidden Gorge in Mount Remarkable National Park on Sunday when he fell and broke his lower right leg.

It took emergency service workers more than two hours to carry the politician to a waiting ambulance.

“I want to thank them and everyone involved in my rescue and care,” the ex-state Labor leader wrote on Facebook.
