A new vision for over 50’s living

-

THE Pradella Group is one of Queensland’s longest running privately owned property development companies.

Founded in 1959, this familyowned company has contributed significantly to the urban development of cities like Brisbane and the Gold Coast, and has led the way in the pursuit of excellence in property development.

In 2009, Pradella started Seachange Lifestyle Resorts with their first flagship resort on the Gold Coast, Seachange Arundel.

Pradella’s vision was to establish a benchmark in community living for over 50’s that would set the standard for everything to come.

The traditional retirement village model did not appeal — with costly exit fees and complicated and purchasing structures, Pradella knew that there had to be a more innovative alternative to bring to the market.

Their desire to create this vision took the company’s directors overseas, and it was in Florida in the United States that a refreshing new approach was found.

Pradella took the principles behind what they saw and built a first class facility that operates as a lifestyle resort, filling a calendar of interesting activities and events where likeminded residents could interact as a true community.

One where people would choose to live, not begrudgingly, but willingly, at a much younger age.

A place where people can focus on what should be the best time of their lives.

Ten years on from this, it is clear their vision has been realised.

The Arundel project has flourished into a vibrant community of active residents and been awarded by industry bodies such as the UDIA, Master Builders Association and Housing Industry of Australia. The second Seachange Lifestyle Resort, at Emerald Lakes on the Gold Coast, replicated this success, selling out entirely in an 18 month period.

With a tried and tested model clearly mapped out, Seachange is poised for expansion with the launch this year of both Seachange Riverside Coomera on the Gold Coast and Seachange Toowoomba.

With the number of Australians aged 55–75 expected to nearly double in the next 25 years, Pradella is poised to continue its expansion and maintain its reputation as QLD’s most awarded private development company.
