Resort’s adventure activities put a whole new spin on relaxation

-

TANGALOOMA Island Resort might be incredibly relaxing, but there is a raft of activities for those feeling a little more adventurous.

The Quad Bike Tour will take you into the dunes behind the resort, where you will get to hoon around the tracks.

But if you’re not as confident as the others, there are often two groups – one for the experienced and another for those who would prefer to take in the scenery.

There are specially built quad bike trails with winding turns and steep hills for all to enjoy. If the tide is right, you’ll also get the thrill of riding beside the water.

This isn’t the only extreme activity on the island.

There’s segway tours, 4WD safari bus tours and beach bikes for hire too.

Self-guided four-wheel drive tours allow you to explore the secluded beaches and untouched areas of Moreton Island at your own pace.

You just need a valid driver’s licence to hire a vehicle.

A Moreton Island must is sand tobogganing the enormous dunes.

If you’re itching to get back into the water, you could try the scuba diving for new and experienced divers.

The dive will take you to the Tangalooma Wrecks, where you can explore the sunken ships, home to more than 100 species of marine life. Prices vary depending on experience.

A helicopter flight or parasailing experience are other ways to see the island from above. You’ll get the thrill of 360-degree views of the bay and island, great for spotting dugongs, turtles and dolphins in the crystal clear water.
