Afterpay users reach over 10,000

MORE than 10,000 shoppers are now using Afterpay in Toowoomba shops, as the digital credit service continues to spread.

New statistics from the popular buy-now, pay-later platform have been revealed, with usage in Toowoomba increasing over the past 12 months.

A spokeswoman for Afterpay said nearly 100 merchants in the Garden City were using the service.

As of July, there were also about 10,600 Toowoomba residents who had used Afterpay at least once.

While the stores available covered a range of products, the majority were fashion retailers.
