Students get a taste for uni life

-

HIGH-SCHOOL students from Toowoomba and the surrounding region were given the on-campus experience at the University of the Southern Queensland.

Year 9 and Year 10 students attended a variety of interactive sessions which covered a range of subjects of the USQ Careers Day.

Scots PGC College Year 10 student Flynn Mahoney said the day helped him figure out what he wanted to do.

He said he found some answers at the civil engineering session.

“I am really interested in this area,” Flynn said.

“I have seen the influence it can have on its community and the people.

“I want to do something that helps people as well as interests me.”

More than 700 students from 20 schools visited the campus to experience university life.

The students had the opportunity to speak with USQ academics, current students and industry professionals about their own experiences.
