Duos duke it out at the eisteddfod

-

TOOWOOMBA Grammar School saxophonists Paul Draheim and James Crothers teamed up to compete in the 73rd City of Toowoomba Eisteddfod.

The duo performed in the saxophone duet category yesterday morning at the Empire Theatre.

James said he and Paul had been put in a lot hours of practice for their rendition of Good Time by Owl City and Carly Rae Jepsen.

“Our music teacher thought we would work well together because we play the same instruments,” James said.

Paul said he enjoyed sharing a stage with James.

“There is a good amount of energy to build on when you share the stage with someone,” Paul said.

“There is also less chance you get blamed if you both mess up,” James said.
