■ In regards to Saturday’s Grammar and Downlands game at Downlands, there were two letters complaining about the cars being parked in Kate st. One was saying it was revenue raising by the police who booked cars parking on the footpath, the other was complaining about cars blocking them in and unable to leave their property. There were signs placed on the footpath saying no standing, there was plenty of off street parking but those who were booked decided to ignore the signs and subsequently received a ticket for their actions. This happened two years ago and will probably happen next time . It’s simple read the signs and save some money. Don’t blame Downlands for other people’s incompetence.

■ Drivers from the Oakey, Kingsthorpe areas should seriously think about using the highway instead of the back roads to get to Twmba. That’s what it’s made for. Less chance of hitting wallabies, less chance of damage to your vehicle.
