Walkers attacked

TWO Finnish nationals have allegedly been attacked by a driver armed with a shovel while they were walking on the Bibbulmun Track in WA.

The male driver struck a 33year-old man with his car before hitting him on the head with a shovel near Paulls Valley on Saturday. He then turned on the victim’s 33-year-old female companion, but the man managed to stand up and struggled with the driver until the woman struck him with the shovel. A passer-by stopped to help. A 36-year-old man has been charged with attempting to unlawfully kill.
