Fire didn’t stop couple’s wedding

-

AMY Mair and Michael Gemmell were fortunate to have their wedding at the Spicers Hidden Vale.

The couple’s wedding was three weeks after a fire ripped through the reception area.

Mrs Gemmell said it was a really stressful time when she heard about the fire at the homestead.

“I remember that day vividly. I was at my parents’ place having a bridal shower when we heard the news about the fire,” Mrs Gemmell said.

“I was wondering if I was going to have a wedding or not. After four days the team at Spicers got back to us and told us they would still be able to cater for us.

“They were really professional and were able to give us a great wedding.”

The couple had a small wedding with only 14 guests of immediate family and closest friends.

“We’re not overly social people and we wanted to keep the wedding small and intimate,” she said.

After the wedding, the couple went to Pelican Waters Golf Resort at Caloundra.
