ART SHOW WOWS CROWD AND JUDGES ALIKE

-

The Lockyer Valley Foothills Art Show is in its fourth year with a new location this year displaying artworks in the rustic atmosphere of the Postmans Ridge Pioneers Hall.

Feature artist and judge Charmaine Lyons loved the show and certainly enjoyed sharing her project ‘Women United’ with those gathered for the opening night on Saturday June 30.

“Artworks were of high quality and made the judging quite difficult but I absolutely enjoyed the process,” Charmaine said.

The evening ran smoothly and local photographer Helen McCraw took out the Best in Show award, sponsored by local company Stanbroke.

The event showcasing local artists was a great success with several artists selling out.

Coordinator for the event Janice Holstein said feedback was extremely positive with a number of artists already wanting to book for next year.

“We are already looking at next year’s event and will introduce a children’s section and continue to grow the art show.”

The Art Show was also open on the Sunday along with the markets and went exceptionally well.

The organising committee of Janice Holstein, Ann Jones and Kate Church said the event was only possible with the amazing assistance from all sponsors and volunteers.
