AFTER eight years, the owners of a popular CBD restaurant will close the doors on their business for a second time.

But this time, it really is the end for Asher Andrews and Jess Greer’s Little Seed Restaurant. The couple will close the vegan restaurant this Friday, as they prepare to have their second child.

At the end of last month the couple listed their business for sale for the price of $120,000.

The business is yet to sell but Ms Greer and Mr Andrews believe it is time for their restaurant journey to end.

When talking to The Chronicle, Mr Andrews said they wanted to prioritise family over the business.

In an emotional post on Facebook the pair said goodbye to their loyal customers and invited them to come and say goodbye this Friday.

“The gratitude and sentiment we hold towards the people who have supported us runs deep in our veins. Thank you, for sharing the roller coaster journey with us,” it read.

“We have one final day and want to show you a good time.”

Many residents shared their disappointment at the news.

Jodie Garrett said: “You, your beautiful food and amazing coffee will be missed. Best wishes on your path.”

Carly Middap said: “We will miss you beautiful people. Thank you for everything.”

Bonita Utz said: “All the best for everything you chose to do in the future and thank you for bringing your joyous, kind and delicious meals to our town.”

But it’s not the end of the couple’s involvement in Toowoomba’s hospitality industry.

While they’ll be going into “hibernation” over the next couple of months, they still hope to make a comeback in some form, with cooking classes and Toowoomba’s Table, a fresh food charity movement.

Ms Greer and Mr Andrews have had an interesting journey when it comes to their Russell St business.

It opened in 2010 as Firefly, a healthy but not strictly vegan restaurant.

It enjoyed success for years, and in January 2017 it was bought by two school teachers who planned to continue to build up the business.

However the teachers decided they no longer wanted the business, forcing Mr Andrews and Ms Greer to close the restaurant for a period of time.

When it reopened, it was rebranded as Little Seed and took a more food-conscious direction, offering a vegan menu.

If you would like to have one last meal at Little Seed, Friday is your last chance.
