BIGGER and better than ever, the 2018 Small Business Expo is coming to Toowoomba.

The event will feature more than 170 exhibitors and upward of 800 business owners at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre on November 23.

Organiser Paula Brand, who also runs expos in Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Logan, and on the Gold Coast, said that in the age of digital media, business owners had become disconnected.

“They rely on websites and Facebook and LinkedIn, but nothing will ever replace the importance of human connection in doing business,” she said.

Ms Brand is hoping the Toowoomba Small Business Expo will generate $1.6 million in “solid sales leads” on the day comparable to $1.3 million at last month’s Logan expo.

This year’s expo will be the first of five, and Ms Brand said that with 13 weeks to go, 55 trade tables had already been confirmed. She said the expo had the added benefit of providing training for businesses that had booked in.

Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce CEO Jo Sheppard said the chamber was pleased to be collaborating with a number of other groups and agencies to bring the expo to town.

“The 2018 Toowoomba Small Business Expo features 170 exhibitors, and over 800+ visitors on the day,” Ms Sheppard said.

“It is designed to help local business owners to showcase and collaborate and grow their business success in this region,” she said.

“Small business is a key driver of our local economy and a major employer in Toowoomba. As the independent voice for business, the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be supporting this expo for small business.”
