LOOKING for holiday ideas or how to book them, then the Hello World Toowoomba Travel Festival might just be for you.

The six Hello World travel agencies in Toowoomba are combining to run a travel festival at Blank Space in the Mills Precinct on the corner of Ruthven and Campbell streets this Sunday from 10am to 2pm.

“There will be over 40 wholesale airlines, bus companies, cruise lines and the like on hand,” veteran Toowoomba travel agent Bernie Freyling said.

“And, like anything, I think it’s important to shop locally so here’s your chance.”

Mr Freyling said a lot of people booked holidays online without considering the pitfalls of doing so.

“Anyone can buy anything online but is that the best practice?” he asked.

“There are people turning up at Brisbane Airport everyday to fly overseas only to discover they don’t have the proper visa to fly to their intended destination or their passport is invalid.

“They didn’t organise their visa because the internet didn’t tell them that they needed one.

“We (travel agents) organise all that for them so they don’t have to worry about things like that.

“We’re the holiday planners and we make sure everything goes smoothly.”

Food trucks and a licensed bar will be operating at the Hello World Toowoomba Travel Festival which will also include family fun activities.

Patrons attending the travel festival also have a chance of winning an amazing European holiday for two plus other prizes on the day.

Plus lots of other prizes will be available on the day.
