Charlotte spins web on stage

Children’s classic comes to life

-

TOOWOOMBA actor Harrison Paroz is looked forward to bring the iconic children’s book Charlotte’s Web to life.

Mr Paroz will play Wilbur in the production at the Empire Theatre.

“The production of the show has been a lot of fun. There are only six of us playing 15 roles which makes it feel like an ensemble show,” Mr Paroz said.

“I have enjoyed playing and working with everyone.”

The show is the first from Toowoomba production company RAVA Productions which is spearheaded by Ruth Atkinson and Alison Vallette.

Ms Atkinson said she hoped to take the show on tour through Queensland.

“We have planned this production so it’s not only for now but it’s for the future,” Ms Atkinson said.

“So we are hoping to reproduce the show for early 2019 and tour it out west to places like Roma and Chinchilla and north to Townsville.

“The set has been designed to be assembled and disassembled quickly and efficiently.”

Show director and RAVA co-producer Ms Vallette said she was excited about the debut performance of Charlotte’s Web today.

“I was in the enviable position of being able to choose my cast without audition,” she said.

Ms Vallette said RAVA Productions was the result of her and Ms Atkinson’s realisation a professional production company was needed in Toowoomba.
