Wednesday September 26 men's social bowls was won by Jim Walcroft, Keith Herbertson and Brian Gleeson, and runners-up were Tony Ryan, Ray Weis, Vince Vaz and Les Chikos.

The following games are called for the 2018-19 intra-club competitio­ns to be played on Saturday, October 6: Open singles - Shane Case v Roger Brashaw; open pairs - Tony Collins and Don Collins v Ben Ruwoldt and Brent Schloss; open fours - Ray Weis, Alan Richardson, David Freeme and Ian Prodger v Kerry Lovell, Daryl Fraser, John Fowler and Tony Ryan.

Remember, it is club policy that players are financial members for the current year in order to play their first game in the club championsh­ips; so skips please ensure that your team is all paid up.

Playing for a spot in the First Division inter-club Pennanst final on Saturday, September 22 Crows Nest lost to West Toowoomba to the tune of 82-51. Tough luck; or, we could look at it as the first time we all-but made the Divsision one grand final. Not bad at all for a little bush club like ours.

Sunday, September 30 afternoon program of mixed social bowls was cancelled due to the uncertaint­y of the weather.

Coming events:Sunday, October 7: Harry Steabler memorial afternoon.

Sunday, October 14: Mixed social bowls.

Our popular Tuesday night community bowls is due to restart on October 23 and continue on through until November 27 so mark it in your calendar and keep an eye out for local advertisem­ents for additional details.

The next management committee meeting of the club is scheduled for Sunday, October 14 at 9.30am in the clubhouse.

The club has had a few of our members in and out of hospital in recent months with varying degrees of misfortune. We wish them all a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing you all back amongst us soon.
