Inland Rail meetings this month

-

AUSTRALIAN Rail Track Corporation is starting a new phase of consultation on the border to Gowrie section of the Inland Rail.

Senior project manager Rob Smith said the study area for most of the section between the border and Gowrie has been refined and a focused area for investigation established.

“It is an ongoing process and we will continue to consult widely as we refine the study area down from approximately 2km wide to the final rail corridor which will be around 40 to 60 metres,” Mr Smith said.

The refinement has reduced the number of affected landholders from almost 1300 to nearly 250.

Mr Smith said ARTC was currently meeting one-on-one with landowners to better understand each property’s individual characteristics.
