Being part of the community is what it’s all about at Fiveways

FIVEWAYS Furniture has been around for a whopping 22 years.

Owners Daphne and Graham Beer started Fiveways in 1996 when they decided to buy the three adjoining properties on which their business is now situated.

Before that, Graham had worked in the furniture industry for 28 years and amassed a lifetime’s knowledge and experience in all things furniture.

Their massive warehouse, situated at 161 – 165 Jellicoe Street in Newtown, cannot be missed.

Fiveways now sells mainly new furniture, including household items, beds, mattresses, lift–beds and chairs to assist with mobility, office furniture, outdoor furniture, large and small statues, pots, homeware, and giftware to suit all ages.

“We are proud that our business has been around for 22 years, and of the personalised service we offer,” Daphne said.

“We get a lot of customers who are impressed with the vast variety of items we stock; they tell us they wish they’d found us sooner,” she added.

According to Daphne, they have many return customers who bring back friends or family to share with them what Fiveways has to offer.

She believes friendly, helpful and honest customer service with a smile, is what makes a good business.

Fiveways Furniture have been involved with the Town Proud promotion since it started and one of their customers won the competition in 2015 after shopping with them.

Daphne said Toowoomba’s location is what she loves most about living and running a business here.

“Toowoomba has always had a lovely country feel to it, being on the doorstep of the Darling Downs, and we are close enough to Brisbane to provide everything we need. It’s the best of both worlds,” she said.

According to Daphne, being ‘Town Proud’ is about being a part of the community and connecting customers with local businesses in Toowoomba and the surrounding areas.

Getting ready for the Christmas rush, Daphne said they’ll have some exciting new products in store.

“For the young and young at heart, we have awesome large Ford trucks, combi vans, and bath tub eskys and ice tubs that can also be used as planters, and would make an excellent addition to the ‘man cave’ or outdoor area,” she said.

Fiveways also stock children’s metal pedal cars, doll houses and accessories, and prams suitable for doll and bear collectors.

Open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, between 8.30am and 5pm (except 12pm on Saturdays), Fiveways Furniture will look after your furniture needs.
