COOBY DAM
COOBY remains closed because of poor water conditions.
CRESSBROOK DAM
THERE are some confident reports still coming through for Cressbrook this week with a few anglers getting there limits.
It’s critical to fish that early morning and late afternoon bite.
Main points in the Cressbrook arm are holding good numbers of fish.
Spoons and metal blades have worked well on these fish.
LESLIE DAM
LESLIE is still fishing very well considering the amount of pressure it continues to receive.
Trolling large spinnerbaits is having the most success once again.
The main ramp on wards to the wall have fished very well for cod.
Yellowbelly have been in good numbers in the old creek bed out from the ramp.
ZX Blades and saltwater yabbies have been the anglers most proven lure and bait.
BJELKE-PETERSEN DAM
BP HAS been one of the inform dams this past week as far as numbers of fish go.
Sessions of 20-to-40-plus fish are not uncommon and if you put the work in you can get some quality as well.
A few areas that have been fishing well lately are the large flat straight out from the park boat ramp, wide of the quarry and wide of Bass Point.
Metal blades have worked very well.
Cast tight to the edges if you’re willing to fish before it gets too hot.
The trolling anglers are also picking up some great fish.
BOONDOOMA DAM
THERE’S a couple of good fishing options for Boondooma
this week.
With the water level rise over the past few weeks it has opened up a short period for a great edge bite, with the fish sitting very close to the banks.
Casting spinnerbaits or soft vibes have worked the best on these fish.
In the basin towards fishing deeper water around the dam wall has seem some good fish getting caught.
Targeting the suspended fish with plastics or 5/8oz spinnerbaits has by far been the lures of choice.
Redclaw have also been in numbers if you’re willing to throw a few pots in.
LAKE AWOONGA
THIS lake is well and truely in fine form with most anglers getting fish.
Targeting these fish in either shallow bays during the night or early morning or deeper points during the day have both been effective.
Jackall Squirrel 79 Hanktunes or a 4-6 inch weedless plastic like the new and improved Berkley Hollow belly have fished well.
GOLD COAST OFFSHORE AND BROADWATER
THERE’S been great signs of blue and black marlin this past week moving in with the warmer water as the temperature begins to rise.
24s and 54 Fathom reefs have fished well for snapper, tusk fish and trag jew.
Live yakkas and fresh pilchards have worked well.
