Endurance event pushes teams to their limits
AN ENDURANCE event which pushed contestants to their limits took place at the Toowoomba Showgrounds at the weekend.
It’s the fourth year the Kryptonite Challenge has been held in Toowoomba and it bought out teams of all ages and fitness levels.
It was open to any fitness level and designed not to be a race so people could take as long as they liked to complete the course.
The event was held across both Saturday and Sunday so as many teams as possible could take part.
Some people tackled the challenge alone, others with a friend and some workplaces also got big groups together and made a day of it.
There were more than 50 crazy, muddy challenges and obstacles to attempt during a 7km or 12km course.
Contestants battled their way through mud slides, electric shocks, car pushing and a number of other fitness courses.
Indah Cox and Made Dellaquaglia live near Beaudesert and drove two and a half hours to attend.
Ms Cox said she enjoyed endurance events and would often travel to take part.
“They are just a bit of fun,” she said.
“That is the best part about the Kryptonite Challenge because there are no penalties and no pressure to finish all courses or finish in a certain time frame.
“We have done a few of these and will keep doing them next year as they pop up.
“We drove two and a half hours to be here. The best part was the mud slide.”
