DAVE Norris died doing what he loved on a motorbike he had lovingly maintained for more than 20 years.
Mr Norris, known to many as “Digger”, is being remembered as an “absolute try-scoring machine” for his beloved Blackheath NRL club at Katoomba in NSW where he earned the moniker “King of the Mountain”.
It was a title he humbly, but proudly, owned having earned it on the footy field.

Mr Norris, 64, died in a motorbike crash at Meringandan on Saturday.
His daughter Danielle Milligan said her dad owned the Harley Davidson since the mid-90s.
“He loved that motorbike,” she said.
“If he had to go any way, he died doing what he loved.”
She said her father had an incredible work ethic, loved horses and the outdoors, and owned Goombungee News and Takeaway which he ran with his wife Janelle. The pair was regarded as stalwarts in the community.
He loved horses and his rescue dogs, two of which will be cremated with him in the Blue Mountains.
“Dad was just one of those people who were good at everything,” she said.
Her sister Lisa Norris said her father was a “massive” Bulldogs fan - a passion which had rubbed off on her.
“He was all about football,” she said.
“Back home (in Katoomba) he is known as the King of the Mountain.”
The funeral for the father of three, grandfather to seven and great-grandfather to one, will be held in Katoomba, and a memorial service will be held in Goombungee at a later date.
