TOOWOOMBA CHRISTIAN COLLEGE FORMAL

-

THERE will never be a cohort quite like Toowoomba Christian College’s 2018 graduates.

That’s how formal co-ordinator and hospitality teacher Beth Neuendorf described the quirky group who signalled the end of their schooling careers in style on Friday night.

Celebrating a tough final year with the college, the students hit the red carpet in style, and in the unique way only they knew how.

“There were a group of boys who arrived in a stretch limo and labelled themselves the ‘lonely hearts limo’,” Ms Neundorf said.

“Their joke was there wasn’t enough girls for someone to go with so the did a blokes band together thing.”

Over the course of their time at the college, teachers and staff had got to know the students well.

So for Ms Neuendorf, it was an emotional farewell for the educators who had taught them so much over the years.

“We implemented quite a few changes in the day-today running of the school this year,” she said.

“One thing we can say is the commendable way they acted without grumbling ... they just ran with it.

“They are definitely an outstanding group of individuals and a lot of them have clear direction with where they are heading which is nice to see.

“Just watching them do things for the community like raising money for charity ... they are a lot deeper than their sense of humour and dances moves would indicate.

“There are some very caring individuals who helped us raise funds.

“It was lovely to see their transformation from school kids into adults.”
