ACD Trade creates an ‘A’ Class industrial facility

SINCE settling on the property in July of 2018, Jason Thorn of ACD Trade has transformed the former base of the Toowoomba Auction Centre into a 1450sq m ‘A’ class industrial facility.

ACD Trade is an Australian owned and operated company that started operation with one employee back in 1999 and since then has grown to an organisation with 51 employees and branches in eight locations across Queensland and the Northern Territory (with Rocla Court in Glenvale, Toowoomba being the latest in a controlled roll out).

CEO Jason Thorn (pictured left) said that with the help of Markus Eames (right) of LJ Hooker Commercial it was an easy choice for ACD to see the potential value in the site.

"As soon as Markus brought me to the site all I could see was potential and we have come a long way since we bought a tin shed six months ago," Jason said. "With more than 1450sq m over the two properties, the renovation and extensions have been worth it.

"It is easy to get what you want when you are working with an experienced team and Builtwright, along with some local suppliers, really pulled together," Jason added.

"As Toowoomba has always been a really important growth area for ACD it made great business sense to support the region by having more of the stock items that ACD customers use.

"Having a comprehensive selection of tools/air-conditioning units (from a residential split system to large VRF/VRV and chillers) plus more than 4000 consumable items for our customer base in the HVAC and electrical industry – ACD Trade will not disappoint.

"The region is expanding rapidly and with all the infrastructure going on ACD has invested over $3.8 million dollars into getting this new location ready."

After Toowoomba, the company has another four locations to open in 2019; as well as some manufacturing opportunities to consider.

Mr Eames said it has been fantastic to see the original shed of the Toowoomba Auction Centre transformed into this quality industrial facility that is now home to ACD Trade, the Toowoomba industrial market rarely produces high-bay sheds for volumetric storage such as 7 Rocla Court.
