A new era on Anzac Avenue
Wholesaler and butcher supplies in one spot
TOOWOOMBA Wholesale Distributors began trading under the direction of Louis Filipetto more than 18 years ago with just four employees.
Now, it is part of a network of companies based in Toowoomba that employs more than 50 people - and that’s something Mr Filipetto, managing director and owner, is proud of.
Recently, the company marked an impressive milestone, with the opening of its new dual-business premises at 238 Anzac Ave, now home to both TWD and the recently-merged Toowoomba Butcher’s Supplies.
Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce president Joy Mingay, who spoke at the grand opening of the premises on November 30, described the occasion as “a wonderful achievement ... and a vote of confidence in our wonderful city”.
The businesses now service all of south-western Queensland, out to the South Burnett and down to northern New South Wales.
“What would we do as a business community if it wasn’t for the Louis’ of the world having

the faith to keep growing and expanding – facing hurdles and obstacles along the way but never giving up,” Mrs Mingay said.
“People like Louis are the lifeblood – in that they help so many community organisations.”
Mr Filipetto said the purchase of TBS had created the opportunity to build a new premises next door to his other business, Toowoomba Confectionery Wholesalers.
“(TWD and TBS) compliment each other and we can offer a product range greater than 5000 items,” he said.
The company sources locally where it can. But the businesses’ achievements would not have been possible without the dedication of his staff, Mr Filipetto said.
“I would like to thank our staff for contributing towards our business growth and stability up to now and into the future.”
