FIVE families received the ultimate presents on Christmas Day with five babies delivered at the Toowoomba Hospital.

Hospital clinical midwife Chris Duncan said it was amazing to have five babies delivered on Christmas Day.

Newborn babies Henry Fien, Max Smith, Harper Acquisto, Sonny Stewart and Ollie Pyke arrived at various times on Christmas day.

First-time parents Emma Blacka and Kyle Fien expected their son to arrive on December 30.

“Everything went very quickly, so we’re still feeling a little overwhelmed,” Ms Black said.

“It is the ultimate Christmas present having Henry join our family.”

Mr Fien said the whole experience had been surreal.

Parents Sasha and Jack Stewart didn’t plan for baby Sonny’s arrival.

“We didn’t have anything planned for Christmas just in case he decided to make his arrival,” Mrs Stewart said.

“It will take a little bit of time to adjust but we’re over the moon,” Mr Stewart said.

Mrs Duncan said to have five babies delivered on Christmas was more than usual.

“Five is quite a substantial number of babies for a Christmas day,” she said.

“Everything went really well for these mothers, so that was exciting for us as midwives.”
