Kimmince helps Heat book spot in Big Bash finals

CRICKET: Backing up her four-wicket game against the Melbourne Stars on Thursday, Warwick’s Delissa Kimmince delivered another standout performanc­e on Saturday as the Heat downed the Sydney Thunder.

The medium-pacer finished with match-best figures of 2-23 from her four overs, including the key scalp of Thunder opener Rachel Priest to help restrict the visitors to 7/171.

She then scored an unbeaten 11 with the bat as the Heat chased down the total with just three balls to spare.

The win locks in a top-four spot for the women’s Heat, who will will find out their finals opponent later today. The semi finals are played at Drummoyne Oval in Sydney on Saturday. Brendan Doggett and the Heat men played the Renegades overnight.
