POLICE are continuing to search for a mini dachshund stolen from a South Toowoomba home last week.

Winnie the mini dachshund was reported stolen from the Bright St home last Tuesday.

It’s believed she was taken some time between 6am and 4pm.

Winnie is a black, tan and white miniature of the breed with distinctiv­e blue and brown eyes.

She has a white patch on her chest and her owners reported Winnie was wearing a pink collar.

Toowoomba police yesterday clarified confusion on social media about the missing pup’s name after Winnie’s theft and another similar mini dachshund were shared on Facebook.

Police confirmed the dog subject to an appeal for help locating her was named Winnie, while a second dog is believed to be named Lacy.

Anyone with informatio­n is urged to phone police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
