PROGRESS ASSOCIATION

-

THE Toowoomba Regional Council has notified the Wilsonton Progress Association (a not-for-profit group) who provides a free hot barbecue meal for the region’s homeless/needy people two days a week, that they need to fork out hundreds of dollars to obtain a food licence or risk being fined.

This is outrageous to say the very least. Here’s a mob of kind-hearted caring volunteers, actually in touch with what’s really going on in our community actively getting involved and helping those in need, sacrificing their own time and money to do so. Whereas these council desk jockeys are sitting back in their air-conditioned offices, high-fiving one another and slapping each other on the back whilst unanimously voting to give themselves pay-rises for doing essentially nothing but coming up with more BS reasons as to how and why the rates need to be further increased.

I don’t know how they sleep at night. How many thousands of ratepayers’ dollars are spent each week by these council clowns? I know who should be fined!

How about all the members of council forego their unjustified 2.1% pay-rise and donate that money to facilitators like the Wilsonton Progress Association and publicly recognise them and show some gratitude for the service provided.

All in favour...
