Final teams named for the Clydesdales
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Toowoomba Clydesdales have finalised its pair of teams to take on Brisbane Wests on Saturday in Warwick.
The two curtain raisers ahead of the Brisbane Broncos NRL trial game feature some of the best players in the TRL Premiership, and serve as a key selection trial before the TRL All Stars vs South West Emus fixtures on February 23.
Injuries have forced further changes to the teams, with Sean Loxley, Daniel Hork, Steven Franciscus and Matt Duggan ruled out of the fixture.
Team one is characterised with a distinct Hawks feel in the backline, with the halves pairing of Luke Nolan and Hayden Lipp accompanying outside backs Daniel Jennings and Billy Jackwitz.
Ben Sullivan and Tyrell McCullagh will share the hooking duties which is set to provide an avalanche of pace out of dummy half.
Valleys will have eight representatives in team two, alongside six Highfields players.
Joe Mua had his first stint in the red and black during Valleys loss to Easts Tigers at the weekend, and will slot into the side on the interchange bench.
The stars aren’t restricted to the field on the evening, with coach Ned Murphy opting for a star-studded support crew.
Tony Morris will take up an assistant role, while former NRL first graders Brett Seymour and Travis Burns will take up unfamiliar roles as trainers.
