PERFECT PAWATHON A SUCCESS

-

THE day may have gone to the dogs but it was in the cutest way possible.

About 100 dogs and their humans took to the CBD to support the first Belle Vie Animal Rescue “pawathon” from Queens Park to Bar Wunder on Saturday.

Animal organisation founder Brooke Pavlicevich said the support shown at the event helped promote the work Belle Vie does for animals in need.

“We were founded in August 2018 so we haven’t been open very long,” she said.

“We’re a very small organisation and to date we have saved about 125 animals and successfully re-homed about 68 of those.

“We are small, we’re still trying to get our name out there, and that’s the whole purpose of (the pawathon).

“To spread awareness of what we do, and to get the community together.”

Belle Vie Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit registered charity based in South East Queensland with a mission to rescue and re-home animals in the region.

Ms Pavlicevich said the support of Bar Wunder helped make the walk a success for the organisation.

“Fiona and Bar Wunder have been amazing since we opened our doors,” she said.

“They’ve supported us from the start it’s a really awesome venue.
