Start of year for students

-

VICE-CHANCELLOR Professor Geraldine Mackenzie welcomed the University of Southern Queensland’s newest students at a ceremony yesterday morning.

Hundreds of commencing students sat with new friends and classmates to hear from USQ executives at the welcome ceremony at the Clive Berghofer Recreation Centre, before heading to a variety of sessions introducing them to USQ.

“Whether you are a school leaver, coming to university a little later in life or an international student from one of the many countries represented here on campus – welcome,” Professor Mackenzie said.

“The student experience is very important to us. During orientation you will find all the information you need to successfully navigate your way through those crucial first few weeks and settle into your studies.

“We want to make sure an education from USQ is the first and best step you can take in your future career.”

Orientation will continue over the next few days with a series of information sessions and social activities.
