CANNABIS FARM

Toowoomba Regional Council Mayor Paul Antonio is misguided if he thinks a pot farm in the Toowoomba region will help our city.

The Mayor has put his support behind a Canadian-run medicinal cannabis farm at Wellcamp. My first reaction to seeing the story was shock. Antonio claims that the farm will create about a hundred jobs, but at what cost to the community?

It is well documented that the only high of cannabis is high blood pressure, and leads to psychosis and schizophrenia symptoms.

Does this Mayor seriously think setting up a plantation for this highly dangerous drug will benefit the Toowoomba Region? He has been seriously misguided and ill informed of the consequences of such an action.

I suggest new leadership is needed, and I call for a vote of no confidence in the presiding mayor. Paul, you’ve lost my vote on this issue alone.
