MORE than 200 vehicles are expected to attend new festival Hot Rods for the Homeless, to be held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds on June 22.

The show will centre on raising funds for Toowoomba charities, with all proceeds to be donated to Rosie’s Friends On The Street and The Toowoomba Suicide Prevention Network.

Kicking off at 9am, the show will include a 30 category vehicle competition, open to all makes of car, utes, bikes and trucks.

Organiser and CEO Rohan Robertson said he started organising car shows in 2006.

“My friend was the first to point out the plight of the homeless,” Mr Robertson said.

“From there I decided I would combine my love of cars with the opportunity of raising money for charity.”

Mr Robertson said they were looking for sponsors for the weekend. The event will be held in conjunction with a ball on June 21, headlined by James Blundell.
