Exclusive estate unveiled
13 lot Mount Lofty escarpment subdivision underway
‘‘ IT’S A BRILLIANT LOCATION, AND THE VIEWS ARE GREAT. ROBERT WEYMOUTH
PERCHED on the side of the escarpment at Mount Lofty, Robert Weymouth’s vision of an exclusive residential subdivision is starting to take shape.
Bordering Jubilee Park, and with an entryway to be built off Piccadilly Ct, St Peters Close will comprise 13 lots with sensational views and an average lot size of 4215 sq m.
It has been a two-year journey for Rob and Cathy Weymouth to get to this point as they ticked off approvals and studies, and with earthworks now under way, Mr Weymouth said it was “a relief ”.
“You get through that process (for approvals) and we get to here and within four months it’ll be done,” he said.
“It’s really exciting actually to get to this stage.
“There’s not much land available in Toowoomba with views. It’s harder to get... and this area is really gaining a reputation for high quality living.
“If you head straight up Mackenzie St you’re in East Toowoomba, it’s close to the schools, close to the hospitals. It’s a brilliant location, and the views are great.”
Mr Weymouth estimated the lots, which range from 2220 sq m to 1.45ha, would eventually hit the market for between the early $300,000s to just under $800,000.
The land has been selectively cleared to retain “as many mature trees as possible” and Mr Weymouth said he had cooperated with neighbours in surrounding homes, as well as having a full environmental study done before works began.
Contractor Allroads is expected to complete the subdivision by mid-June.
An additional 1.45ha of land has been dedicated to the Toowoomba Regional Council for parkland, effectively an extension of Jubilee Park.
Mr and Mrs Weymouth’s company, Weymouth Investments, is taking expressions of interest for the lots, but won’t be fully releasing the land to the market just yet.
