Message of sun safety

Sunscreen trailer free to hire

-

THE Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is helping community groups, organisations, clubs and businesses spread the message of sun safety at their local events with their new free sunscreen trailer.

Making its first debut at this week’s Queensland PGA Championships at the Toowoomba City Golf Club, the foundation’s sunscreen trailer will be available for hire free of charge from Monday, February 25.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said the foundation was proud to be able to do their bit in helping to reduce the rates of sun-related skin cancers in the region.

“Queensland still has one of the highest rates of skin cancer in the world,” she said.

“So, we thought that there’s more that we can be doing to help our community be safer in the sun and assist Darling Downs Health in spreading the importance of wearing sunscreen.

“We want our sunscreen trailer to always be out and about and on the move. There are so many community events, sporting meets, open days and opportunities for our local groups, organisations, schools and clubs to take advantage of our free trailer.

“So, if you have an outdoors event coming up please get in touch as we’d love to lend you our trailer so that you can tick all the boxes when it comes to helping your patrons be sun safe.”
