Kyrgios outlasts fellow Aussie

Nick Kyrgios has beaten fellow Australian John Millman in the first round of the ATP Tour’s Delray Beach Open in Florida.

The unseeded Kyrgios overcame fifth seed Millman 6-4 6-7 (1-7) 7-6 (7-3) in the two hour and four minute encounter.

World No.64 Kyrgios hit 19 aces but threw in 11 double faults as he fended off the lone break point chance on his serve.

Kyrgios will face Romanian Radu Albot or Croatian veteran Ivo Karlovic in the round of 16.

Bernard Tomic and Jordan Thompson were to start their campaigns early this morning against No.6 seed Andreas Seppi and Spain’s Marcel Granollers respectively.
