AN ASIAN restaurant in the CBD closed late last year, and after making some changes to the business model it reopened this week.

Kusina Asian Grill will soon re-brand and go under the name Kusina ATBP, which means kitchen and all other things.

Owner Raphael John de Paula said after travelling interstate for inspiration he was excited to reopen his restaurant.

“Our original branding focuses on Asian grill, but we have now opted to embrace a majority of Filipino cuisine,” he said.

“So our al a carte dinner menu will be all Filipino food, like roulade of chicken, pork adobo, fish balls, and ube palitaw.”

There is also a new lunch time concept, called Turo-Turo.

It originated in the Philippines and is suited to people who want to spend their lunch time wisely rather than waiting for food to be served.

The Turo-Turo concept involves ordering from a bain marie.

Once customers have chosen their meal they pay at the counter and the food is then served to their table.

“The great thing about this is customer can share the food as each dish is served on a separate bowl or serving dish,” Mr de Paula said.

“This is also super affordable and would guarantee quick service.

“The meals offered at lunch span from classic Filipino favourites to other cuisines and are different dishes are served daily.”

Kusina Asian Grill is located on level one, 417 Ruthven St above Australian Sports Nutrition.
