St Vincent’s welcomes new surgeons to Garden City
FOUR new Toowoomba surgeons all agree - they love their new life in Toowoomba and are impressed with the facilities at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
Dr Ryan Schrale, Dr Lee Ong, Dr Matthew Stinson and Dr Rouzbeh Jahangiri all relocated to Toowoomba recently, and are excited to become part of the community.
General and interventional cardiologist Dr Schrale hit the ground running when he arrived in town at the end of February.
Since then, he has performed several lifesaving procedures on patients at St Vincent’s and is impressed by the hospital’s state-of-the-art cardiac catheter laboratory facilities and the calibre of the nursing staff.
General surgeon Dr Ong brings skills not previously offered locally.
In addition to his general surgical training, Dr Ong has completed an additional two years post fellowship training in oncoplastic breast surgery – an approach now widely recognised as the benchmark for best practice in breast cancer treatment.
He is able to speak, read and write in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and Cantonese and Malay.
Specialist obstetrician and gynaecologist Dr Stinson relocated to Toowoomba with his wife Bridie (a speech pathologist) and their two children to join friend and colleague Dr David Chettle in Evolve Women’s Health, the private practice Dr Chettle started last year.
Dr Stinson plans to specialise in high risk/complex pregnancies and laparoscopic surgery. He also has a special interest in endometriosis.
General surgeon Dr Jahangiri was already familiar with Toowoomba having previously worked here several years ago, during his general surgical training at the Toowoomba Hospital.
He and his wife Jane and their two young children have moved here from Tasmania where Dr Jahangiri worked at the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Dr Jahangiri has a special interest in colorectal surgery and is excited to be setting up his own private practice. He is able to speak, read and write in Farsi and Dari.
