Juveniles, man facing string of charges

ONE of two juveniles arrested after a police chase through Toowoomba on Monday has been released on bail with conditions.

The Withcott boy, 15, was released from custody after he was arrested in a garden shed, along with a 22-year-old man, on Monday.

The boy, charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, spent the night in custody before a successful bail applicatio­n in the Toowoomba Magistrate­s Court yesterday.

He was one of three people arrested on Monday after a police operation in the city.

A 22-year-old man had his parole revoked and was remanded in custody until April during a brief mention in court yesterday.

He did not apply for bail. The man was charged with 12 offences including enter dwelling and commit indictable offence, obstruct police, stealing, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

His matters will next be mentioned in court on April 23.

A Maroochydo­re boy, 17, charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property and burglary did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody.

The two juvenile offenders had their matters adjourned to April 11.

Police will allege the trio was involved in a string of events across Toowoomba on Monday when officers saw an allegedly stolen car in Newtown.

The Range Rover was later destroyed by fire in a paddock at Top Camp.

None of the accused has been required to enter pleas to their charges.
