Gundy stars in best 17 of the week

-

RUGBY LEAGUE: Goondiwindi’s impressive showing against Gatton has come full circle, with three players earning extra honours.

The Boars were well represented, with three players named by TRL media in the team of the week from round one, namely Malcolm McGrady, David McGrady and Kyle Munro.

Also among the players recognised was Oakey hooker Aaron Cherry, who scored the match winning try for the Bears in their thrilling win over Southern Suburbs.

“He played a different role last week and was more patient rather than having a large work rate,” TRL Media’s Andrew O’Brien said.

“Oakey have good players sprinkled throughout the backline and a good forward pack, which is a lot better for the experience of Steve Rodgers.”
