AN ANIMAL cruelty charge against a Toowoomba man accused of throwing pet guinea pig “George” into a wall during a domestic argument has been adjourned.

The 25-year-old man was not in Toowoomba Magistrate­s Court for the mention of his matters which arise from alleged incidents in January.

Police claimed George the guinea pig allegedly sustained a bleeding nose and fur loss in the incident.

The man, who cannot be named due to domestic violence issues, has not been required to enter pleas to charges of animal cruelty, wilful damage, common assault and obstructin­g police. Magistrate Damian Carroll adjourned the case for mention in the same court on April 11.
