New footpaths in Cherbourg
KINGAROY: Pedestrians will soon be much safer travelling between Murgon and Cherbourg thanks to Federal Government funding.
The government yesterday announced up to $3 million in funding for the construction of a footpath connecting the communities for pedestrians and cyclists.
Wide Bay MP Llew O’Brien said the footpath had been a long-time priority for the Cherbourg Aboriginal Shire Council.
“Once constructed, the footpath will provide a safe alternative route,” he said.
