Medication profile in your pocket

-

SMALL enough to fit in a wallet or purse, the PocketProfile is an invaluable tool that contains details of the medications you are taking.

The card, which is prepared by your local pharmacist, can prove to be vital to your wellbeing if you find yourself in strife at home, near home, interstate or even overseas.

It contains your current medication profile, an emergency contact number, your doctor’s name and pharmacy contact details.

In addition to the Webster-pak content information, it can be used to record anything else you are taking.

The information is printed on an A5-sized document which, with its perforations, folds into business card size.

For anyone who has the pre-pack medications, Webster-pak will automatically have one of these cards issued at the time a pack is purchased and when medications are updated. If you haven’t received one, it can be requested from your pharmacist.

The card can also be requested by pharmacy clients who don’t have a Webster-pak.

The PockedProfile card was developed by Webstercare’s founder, pharmacist Gerard Stevens.

“It occurred to me that what police do in the event of an accident or emergency is they go through the person’s wallet to see who they are and any other identification,” he said.

“It also acts as a tool when a person goes to see their GP or specialist to say, ‘here is my current medication list’.”

Another new tool is the Webster-pak Interim. It can be requested from pharmacists for use when a short-term medication pack is required.
