No deal on Green Bill

REPUBLICANS forced a vote on congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal to corner Democratic presidential hopefuls on the economy-upending plan proposed by the party’s Liberal Left.

The chamber easily rejected the Green New Deal, a proposal offered by progressive Democrats that would dramatically shift the US away from fossil fuels.

Several Democrats running to challenge President Donald Trump next year have signed on to the non-binding plan.
