Bold plan for first organic A2 milk

-

WATTLE Health Australia plans to produce Australia’s first organic milk powders with the A2 protein.

The dairy nutritional company has first rights on all dairy products produced by the Corio Bay Dairy Group, a joint venture it has a 45 per cent stake in, alongside Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia and minor partner Niche Dairy.

CBDG is building an organic milk spray dryer next door to Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia’s existing factory.

CBDG has varied its supply agreement with ODFG – which has the largest supply of organic milk in Australia – to take commercial quantities of organic A2 milk to process into dairy powders.

WHA said the deal would make it the first nutritional dairy company to produce an Australian organic A2 range of products.

The company’s executive chairman Lazarus Karasavvidis said the move would increase its brand awareness and boost future sales, both domestically and internationally.

“Corio Bay Dairy Group’s securing of organic A2 fresh milk from respected partner Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia is significant, and further strengthens WHA’s ambition to be the premier organic nutritional dairy company in Australia,” Mr Karasavvidis said. “To be the first to market with the highly valued organic A2 product is testament to the quality and value all joint venture parties bring to Corio Bay Dairy Group.”
