Kingaroy to host rally
Road Boss Rally entrants roll into town
KINGAROY residents should keep their eyes peeled today for 70 outlandish cars carrying some 200 participants as part of the 2019 Road Boss Rally.
Participants are on day nine of their long trek on back roads from Cowra to the Sunshine Coast.
They will travel today from Nindigully to Kingaroy.
The rally is travelling from central NSW across the remote west into outback Queensland, the Burke and Wills Dig Tree then north to the finish line at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast tomorrow.
The iconic 10-day 4250km rally is a major fundraiser for GIVIT, and last year it raised $250,000 for the national online charity.
This year – swapping the beach for bulldust – are three members of TV’s popular Bondi Rescue – Corey, Reidy and Whippet aboard their ute, the Bondi Beast.
An accompanying film production team will produce a documentary of the Bondi crew’s adventures during the rally.
Along the rally route, the Road Boss Rally and GIVIT will deliver requested and vital donations to drought-affected communities, while spreading a welcome financial boost to remote towns.
Today GIVIT and Road Boss Rally entrants will deliver donations to families affected by house fires. The items will include a computer, washing machines, fridges, microwave and a TV.
GIVIT’s Founder and Director Juliette Wright said the RBR had raised a staggering $764,000 for GIVIT over the past three years.
