UNLOCK YOUR FITNESS MINDSET

THERE IS A SAYING THAT “ABS ARE MADE IN THE KITCHEN” BUT GETTING AND STAYING IN SHAPE IS JUST AS MUCH MIND AS IT IS MUSCLE

- KELLY RENNIE

Putting in more hours in the gym and tracking your macros closely can only take you so far. It takes discipline to stick to a program and enjoy a great life balance. Mastering the fitness mindset isn’t easy, but it can be done and here’s how:

1. GO ALL IN ON YOUR GOALS

Every goal that is worth achieving will push us in some way. It will (or at least should!) force us to use our time constructively and to let go of things that no longer serve us.

We all know this but very few of us ever set goals that are difficult to achieve. This allows us to back out when things get tough or think of excuses when things don’t go to plan.

Needless to say, this sort of mindset is a disaster waiting to happen.

To set and achieve our goals we need to have the courage to go all in, stopping at nothing until we have done what we said we were going to do.

2. GENERATE POSITIVE ENERGY

The reason the majority of people fail with their goals is that they are not enthusiastic about what they are doing. To them, every trip to the gym is a chore where they could be doing something more enjoyable. When you feel like that it’s never going to work. In order to enjoy training, and your life in general, you need to choose activities and challenges that you enjoy.

The passion and enthusiasm you feel from this alone will carry you to higher levels of success — and what’s more, none of it will feel like “work”.

3. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH INSPIRATION

Fitness is a lifelong journey with many twists and turns, but fortunately for us, lots of people have already achieved what we want to do.

By following in the footsteps of some of the people we admire we can start to build our own roadmap to success, adopting some of their habits and routines as we see fit.

Being able to reverse engineer the lives of successful people is an extremely powerful way to become successful yourself. With smartphones in our pockets, we can tune in to inspirational material at any time.

4. SAY THANK YOU

Being able to focus on the good things that happen to us is one of the big secrets to a happy, productive life. The people who hit their fitness goals and maintain their shape effortlessly are the people who are not afraid to celebrate the little successes along the way.

Getting into the habit of showing gratitude when great things happen to us can be a transformational process that significantly improves our mood, our energy levels and our general outlook on life.

Take time out of your busy day to look and celebrate how far you have come on this path of self-improvement, but always be hungry for more.

“THE PASSION AND ENTHUSIASM YOU FEEL FROM THIS ALONE WILL CARRY YOU TO HIGHER LEVELS OF SUCCESS.”
