Chamber welcomes new CEO
THE Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce has appointed Todd Rohl as its new CEO from the start of next year.
Mr Rohl will start in the role on January 6, after most recently serving as the CEO of investLogan, a property and investment company that he developed from scratch.
Chamber president Harrison Humphries said Mr Rohl’s appointment followed a comprehensive recruitment process which canvassed more than 20 high quality applications.
“It wasn’t an easy decision, but the chamber board is positive that Todd is the right person to take the chamber to the next level,” he said.
“On behalf of the chamber board and staff, I would like to welcome Todd and thank all applicants who took the time to apply for the position.”
Mr Rohl has strong ties to the Toowoomba region, having spent a substantial part of his childhood in Acland where his father, Robin, was the manager of the Acland Colliery.
During his time away from Toowoomba, Mr Rohl remained connected to the region via his involvement in the local thoroughbred industry as an owner and breeder, and through purchasing investment properties in the area.
More recently, Mr Rohl and his husband bought a farm locally, where they are developing a boutique thoroughbred breeding, agistment and spelling business, and earlier this year made the permanent move “back home”.
“I am elated about the appointment and grateful for the opportunity, which was too good to refuse,” Mr Rohl said on accepting the chamber’s offer.
“I have been pursuing my own business aspirations in the Toowoomba region for a number of years now, as I have seen the enormous economic potential of Toowoomba and surrounds.”
As a town planner by trade, a former Queensland President of the memberbased, Planning Institute of Australia, and having worked in and with all tiers of government for more than 15 years, Mr Rohl is confident that he can assist local businesses by advocating for a reduction in unnecessary government red tape.
The chamber will introduce Mr Rohl to the Toowoomba community at the next Business at Dusk on December 11. hosted by Heritage Bank.
