CBA brings Xmas cheer to farmers
PROBABLY the best possible way to kick off a Christmas appeal is with a huge donation and that’s just what Commonwealth Bank Australia has done with its Christmas Drought Appeal.
Staff, customers and supporters of CBA Toowoomba gathered on National Agriculture Day to launch the appeal, which opened with a million dollar donation from CBA.
The appeal is now open for customers and supporters to make their contribution, which they can do right up until Christmas Day.
Head of Regional and
Agribusiness Grant Cairns said Toowoomba was the perfect place to launch the appeal.
“It was great to spend National AgDay in Toowoomba with so many local people, and it was particularly special for me to be with them to launch our Christmas Drought Appeal on the same day,” he said. “Toowoomba has such a strong sense of community and it was great to see it first-hand at our National AgDay breakfast – so many of our customers, community support groups and local council members came along, from near and far, to join us in showing our appreciation and support for the farming sector.
“I’m very much hoping as many people as possible get behind our Drought Appeal and support our Aussie farmers this Christmas.”
CBA will accept donations through the CommBank app allowing customers to make donations anywhere, anytime.
In addition, all CBA branches will be accepting donations across the country.
Last year, CBA and its customers together raised close to $8 million for those impacted by the drought.
