10 THINGS TO DO THIS WEEKEND
1. REINDEER RUN
WHEN: Tomorrow, from 6.30am WHERE: Baillie Henderson Hospital
JOIN Rudolph and the gang for the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation’s annual charity run. This year our fun runners will have the opportunity to walk or run 3.79km around the beautiful historic grounds of Baillie Henderson Hospital. Registrations from 6.30am with an expected start time of 7am.
2. BEER RUN 4 BUSHFIRES
WHEN: Today, 11am-4pm WHERE: Gowrie Rd Hotel, Bridge St
BLOW the froth off a few for a good cause this weekend.
Beer Run 4 Bushfires is a pub crawl to raise funds for the victims of the current bush fires through Rotary International.
Participants must be 18+.
Entry is $50 per person ($25 for beer and $25 for the bushfire victims).
3. ST ANDREW’S NIGHT
WHEN: Today, 7pm
WHERE: Drayton Memorial Hall, Brisbane St
CELEBRATE your inner Scotsman with Toowoomba Caledonian Society members as they host a great night of Scottish entertainment.
Take a turn on the dancefloor with one of the called dances and enjoy Highland dancing and a pipe display. There will also be a raffle and licenced bar, so bring along a plate of supper to share and enjoy a wonderful evening.
4. ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE
WHEN: Tomorrow, 3pm WHERE: USQ Arts Theatre
The Toowoomba Concert Orchestra will present its final concert for 2019,
Transitions.
Be transported through music history, beginning in the 1600s and hear how music has evolved over time as the orchestra explores a range of repertoire from well-known composers and some who should be better known.
Join the orchestra for afternoon tea in the courtyard after the performance. Tickets at the door or via artsworx.com.au.
5. CHRISTMAS BY THE VILLAGE
WHEN: Today, 4.30pm
WHERE: Highfields Village Shopping Centre
MEET Santa, get your hands dirty at the craft station, jump around inside a giant snow globe and finish up with an outdoor screening of The Polar Express!
There will be markets stalls from all of our beloved community members where you can purchase food and raffle tickets, along with face painting for the kids.
Don’t forget to bring your picnic blankets or chairs to watch the movie, which is expected to start around 6.45pm.
6. THE SHADOWS TRIBUTE SHOW
WHEN: Today, 8pm
WHERE: Withcott International Hotel
ENJOY some hits by The Shadows and Cliff Richards as performed by some amazing local musicians. Former Countdowns members Bevan and Owen along with former Stagecoach member Warren and Chapter 3 member Ray will provide a night of amazing music with free entry.
7. DOGGY CHRISTMAS PAWTY
WHEN: Tomorrow, 10am-2pm WHERE: Bar Wunder
FORGET the work Christmas party because Bar Wunder’s doggo Christmas party is set to be the best thing on the calendar this festive season.
Your fuzzy best buddy can have their picture taken with Santa between enjoying lots of treats, a dip in the wading pool or a tumble through the ball pit.
There will be best dressed prizes and the bar will also ensure humans are fed and watered.
Those looking for Christmas gifts for their puppers will also find a range of pet-themed stalls as part of the regular mini pet emporium series.
8. CHRISTMAS AT THE INN
WHEN: Tomorrow, 10am-4pm WHERE: The Royal Bulls Head Inn, Brisbane St Drayton
HEAD to the Royal Bulls Head Inn for a lovely Christmas celebration.
The parlour will be decorated for Christmas and there will be activities for children in Santa’s Workshop. The gift stall will have lots of items to start off your Christmas shopping. The building and grounds will be open for viewing and Christmas treats or Devonshire teas will be available. Entry is $5 for children and concessions, $7 for adults or $20 for a family of four.
9. CHRISTMAS FANTASY
WHEN: Tomorrow, 2pm WHERE: St Ursula’s College Chapel
JOIN the talented After 5 choir group for a selection of Christmas music including traditional carols and modern Christmas songs.
Proceeds will support the QCWA’s Public Rural Crisis fund.

10. PRAY FOR RAIN
WHEN: Tomorrow, 6pm WHERE: The Hub, 55 Highfields Rd
THE lack of rain on the horizon is beginning to become devastating. Highfields Community Church is hosting a special “pray for rain” event in the hopes of bringing some precious rain to the region.
The whole community is welcome to come along and join the effort.
